Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great pleasure for me to be here today among such a distinguished crowd. For this I would like to personally thank the “AEDEN” (the Asociación Española de Derecho de la Energía) and its president, Prof. Dr. Vicente López-Ibor Mayor, for inviting me to participate in such a high-level conference on topical aspects of European energy law.

On behalf of the “Hellenic Energy Law Association”, I would like to wish the organisers success. I look forward to the various interesting presentations from the distinguished speakers and to a stimulating discussion. Therefore, I will keep my intervention short by presenting an overview of the evolution of the EU’s energy policy and the Energy Law through 6 phases.
