It is a cold winter day, and the students at Oakwood School are getting ready for their annual school play. This year, the play is about a famous fairy tale. Sarah is very excited because she has a role in the play. She will be playing the role of the princess.

A few weeks before the play, Sarah and her classmates start practicing their lines. Sarah is a little nervous at first. “I don’t want to forget my lines on stage,” she thinks. But with the help of her friends, she practices every day. “I can do this!” Sarah says to herself.

On the day of the play, Sarah puts on her costume. It is a beautiful blue dress with sparkles. She looks in the mirror and smiles. “I look like a real princess!” she says. Her mom takes a picture of her before she leaves for school.

When Sarah arrives at school, everyone is busy preparing. The teachers are setting up the stage, and the other students are putting on their costumes. “Are you ready, Sarah?” one of her friends asks. “I think so,” Sarah answers. “I’m a little nervous, but I’m excited too.”

Finally, it is time for the play to begin. Sarah stands backstage, waiting for her turn. The audience is quiet, and Sarah can hear her heart beating fast. “I will be okay,” she whispers to herself. When it is her turn, Sarah walks onto the stage with confidence. She says her lines clearly and proudly. The audience claps and cheers.

At the end of the play, Sarah feels proud of herself. “I did it!” she says, smiling. Her friends come over to congratulate her. “You were amazing, Sarah!” they say. Sarah thanks them and looks out at the audience, feeling happy and proud. It was a night to remember!
