It is a rainy Saturday morning. Emily looks out of the window and sees the dark clouds in the sky. “It’s going to rain all day,” she thinks. She sighs, feeling a little sad. “I wanted to go to the park today,” she says.

Emily’s mom comes into the room and says, “Don’t worry, Emily. There are still many fun things we can do inside.” Emily smiles and says, “Like what, Mom?”

“Well, we can make some cookies,” her mom suggests. “That sounds fun!” Emily says. She loves baking with her mom. They put on their aprons and start gathering the ingredients. Emily mixes the flour, sugar, and butter in a bowl. Her mom helps her with the oven. After a while, the kitchen smells delicious!

While the cookies are baking, Emily and her mom play a board game. They laugh and have fun, forgetting about the rain outside. After a few hours, the cookies are ready. They sit down at the table and enjoy the warm, sweet cookies with a glass of milk.

As the day goes on, the rain stops. Emily looks outside again and says, “The sun is coming out!” She runs to the door, but her mom stops her. “Emily, remember, it’s still wet outside,” she says. Emily nods and goes back inside, but she feels happy. “Today was a good day,” she thinks, “even though it was rainy.”
