It is Saturday morning, and Emma and her mom are going to the grocery store. Emma’s mom says, “We need to buy some food for the week. Are you ready, Emma?” Emma nods and says, “Yes, I’m ready!”

When they arrive at the store, they grab a shopping cart. Emma’s mom gives her a shopping list. “Here, Emma. You can help me pick out the food,” she says. Emma is excited because she loves shopping.

First, they go to the fruit section. Emma picks some apples and bananas. “I like apples,” she says. “I don’t like bananas very much, but I’ll take some anyway.” Her mom laughs and says, “Good choice!” They also pick some oranges and grapes.

Next, they go to the vegetable section. Emma helps her mom pick tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots. They also need some potatoes. “We need potatoes for dinner tonight,” Emma’s mom says.

After that, they go to the bread aisle. They pick a loaf of whole wheat bread and a pack of sandwich buns. “We’re having sandwiches for lunch tomorrow,” Emma’s mom says.

Then, it’s time to get some milk and eggs. They pick up a carton of milk and a dozen eggs. “We use milk every day,” says Emma’s mom. “And eggs are good for breakfast.”

Finally, they go to the snacks section. Emma picks a bag of chips and some cookies. “These are my favorites!” she says. Her mom says, “Just a small bag, Emma. We don’t need too many snacks.”

When they finish shopping, they go to the checkout. Emma helps her mom put the items on the conveyor belt. After paying, they pack the groceries into bags and go back to the car.

On the way home, Emma says, “This was fun! I’m looking forward to making the sandwiches for lunch.” Her mom smiles and says, “Me too, Emma. Let’s go home and start cooking!”
