when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to Him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat on the throne, and worship Him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O, Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created, 4:2-11. Crystal speaks of our transparency shining forth. To say something is “crystal clear,” means it is absolutely understood; therefore God’s elect, will see and understand things as clearly as God does. Man will one day with this new revelation fully grasp his passion, pursuit, purpose, and praise, because when he comes face to face with his risen Lord he will be just like Him; seated in heavenly places and that which was once puzzling, will be clearly understood.
In Ezekiel 1:23 the wings of the living creatures are described as being “straight,” the Hebrew word used here is Yashar [3477], which describes their character as being upright, just, righteous, pleasing and their actions justified thereby obtaining approval from God. Next we see their wings covering their body and the Hebrew for “covered” is Kasah [3680]: a picture of keeping a secret, to cover sin, to forgive. It points to the act of God the Father forgiving our sins and teaches us that we should follow this intrinsic attribute, ready to protect rather than to expose; forgive rather than taking revenge. As the living creatures approached the throne of God the prophet heard the sound of their mighty wings.
In Ezekiel 1:24 the prophet states: “And when they went I heard the noise of their wings. The word “heard” is the Hebrew Shama [8085]. These magnificent creatures had massive wings because they created waves of deafening vibrations, which the prophet heard in the spiritual realm. They must have sounded like a mighty waterfall thundering over the cleft of a rock; or the familiar sound of the voice of the Almighty for the heavens were opened and Ezekiel saw visions of God while he pondered his fate, and that also
