completely overwhelmed at the wonder and splendor of the Almighty God. Drained of all natural strength, the prophet falls prostrate as he did before at this amazing and glorious sight; unable to rise on his own; once again, Holy Spirit steps in.

Holy Spirit enters the prophet giving him supernatural strength and he stands up; just then he hears the familiar voice of the LORD, “Go, shut thyself within thine house.” This is a call of separation; Ezekiel must comply, and remove himself from his fellow brethren. When the hand of God rests upon a servant, He calls them into a unique type of fellowship that even their closest family or friends are unable to fully grasp. In exile some degree of self government still existed and for this reason Ezekiel’s message of rebuke to his brethren, would leave him in chains and under house arrest. This was bad news; but what the wicked meant for evil, God would use in Ezekiel’s favor. Holy Spirit was about to use this period of solitary confinement to fulfill Abba Father’s divine purpose. With the Spirit’s help, the prophet embarks on a long fast, one in which his speech would be incapacitated and his voice would only be heard when the Spirit of the Living God desired to address them.
