over the constant battle with sin, to soar in the presence of the Almighty God on wings of worship.

The newly appointed prophet was so saturated with the presence of GOD that as the Spirit transported him back to the natural realm filled with chaos, disappointments and the reality of the loss of freedom; he became heartbroken and overwhelmed with sadness and grief. The temple was razed by fire and for seventy years the residents of the city of Jerusalem would be subjected to religious oppression in Babylon. Ezekiel’s mind is flooded with mixed emotions, being a righteous man who longed to see the day when Israel would once again be a nation living in peace and harmony and basking in the goodness of God. The prophet clung to the hope he had for God is not like man who deceives; that which He had both showed and spoken to Ezekiel, He would perform. The Word of the living God was bedrock in the prophet’s soul and this was his flag of hope. For seven days Ezekiel sat among his exiled brethren along the Chebar River, near Nippur in Babylon; all clueless to the prophet’s meeting with the LORD. Very soon they would realize that Ezekiel was not the same, because he had a life changing encounter that would profoundly affect Israel’s past, present and future generations.

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me.
