Frames
ОглавлениеSome floor frames do not require you to baste the quilt; the layers are held together by the frame.
1 | Baste the backing fabric, wrong side up, to the tape that is fixed to the front and back rollers of the frame. Roll the excess backing fabric onto the back roller until the fabric in the frame is taut.
2 | Attach the bottom edge of the batting to the backing fabric along the front roller only, using long basting stitches. Smooth the batting toward the back of the frame.
3 | Arrange the quilt top over the batting; baste through all three layers along the front edge only.
4 | To hold the batting and quilt top in position along the far edge of the frame, use long, fine pins or needles. The batting and quilt top hang loose over the back roller.
5 | Quilt the area in front of you and then release the tension and roll more backing off the back roller. Wind the quilted part onto the front roller, retension, and continue to quilt.
