Feeling good and feeling good

Оглавление

We can feel good in two ways, either based on ego and fun or based on love and joy.

We are always talking about “feeling good” and sometimes we are unable to distinguish something that actually does feel good from something that does not. Similarly, we pay no attention when we feel uncomfortable and the question whether this is due to ourselves or to the situation usually remains unanswered. To clear this confusion, it is important to understand why we feel good in certain situations.

For example, we feel good based on ego when:

- we do, allow, or fail to do something out of sheer convenience;

- we do something out of habit;

- someone flatters our ego, either with words or actions;

- we push away or play down our pain and inadequacies.

By contrast, if we want to overcome our ego, we will only feel good when we become aware of and resolve some of our weaknesses. We are genuine and honest and we love the truth, and that is why we feel best when we discover and understand the truth. As we can see, not all “feeling good” is in actual fact good for us. We would do well to treat these kinds of feelings with some caution. Just because we feel good in a certain situation, this does not automatically mean it is good for us. Egoists constantly feel bad inside, because they do not like themselves and only put up with themselves, which is why they look for relief from the outside, and the inhibition threshold for cigarettes, alcohol and drugs is low. The more egoistic we are, the less good we feel and the greater we long for feeling good.

Truly feeling good is only possible from a position of selfless, unconditional love of and connectedness with all beings. If you follow this calling of the heart, you will grow ever happier inside and will require ever fewer outer trimmings.

There are many pleasant things we accept freely and willingly, but usually we only accept them if they conform to our ego and we regard them as fun. Since fun originates from the ego, egoistic pleasures will isolate us. They are simply things our ego likes. Truly good for us are those pleasures that fill our heart with joy, because they originate from selfless love and connect us to our closest relations (our fellow humans) and next-to-closest relations (creatures of nature, animals, plants, stones).

Feeling good based on ego will sooner or later lead to disharmony, illness and strokes of fate, while feeling good from a basis of selfless, divine love will strengthen and support us and connect us at heart level.

If you accept uncomfortable feelings when confronting your dark side, and correct these voluntarily, you are rewarded with an unimaginable abundance of light and beauty.
