Philosophy

Оглавление

On a purely linguistic level, philosophy has two kinds of meaning:

1 It is the study of the nature of all things, such as the meaning of life.

2 It also describes a personal or communal ideology and outlook.

Unfortunately both those definitions are quite superficial. Philosophy is so much more than this – it has arisen from the love of truth, the love of wisdom. Philosophers were and continue to be people who would like to find and comprehend the truth in everything and everybody. Their love of truth has not always made them many friends; there have always been people who did not want to hear the truth, especially with regard to themselves and what they were doing. And when they were the ones in power, truth-loving philosophers had a hard time. Sadly, this was not only the case in the olden days, it is still quite the same today, the reason being that power-obsessed egoists have not learnt much over the centuries and are still trying to enslave others.

But in the final analysis, philosophy arose from a lack of insight and wisdom. And over the years, the original love of the truth turned into something else all together.

Unfortunately, philosophy is a spiritual cul-de-sac.

It is nothing more than using the mind to philosophize about life in an intellectual manner. Philosophers like to invent some theory or other and then attempt to find as many arguments as possible in support of their theses. It is like being in a bazaar of thoughts and perceptions. The end result is always a distinction without difference. We do not need to invent life and its meaning – we just need to appreciate what is already there. This is the greatest problem and misunderstanding that philosophy has with regard to itself.

Philosophers have always thought that one would have to invent thoughts and ideas that are as close as possible to the truth and that are provable. Which means that they kept trying to explain life with the help of the mind and the intellect. Instead of acknowledging the meaning of life, they try to invent it, and, now as before, tend to get things very wrong. False, power-driven philosophies have given many people the impression that it would be perfectly legal to place oneself above others and have absolute power of life and death over humans and animals. Sadly, even today those who murdered, pillaged and raped in the past are held as national heroes - even now, they still have followers. The museums of the world still proudly display whatever those so-called heroes looted. The fact that millions of people lost their property, their children, family and friends, and often even their lives for this seems to be of no importance whatsoever.

You can still find intellectual philosophies sprouting up at every street corner. It does not matter whom you ask about the truth – be they bus driver, butcher, carpenter, athlete, politician or whoever – they do not talk about the truth but only about how they see it.

The more we philosophize about life, the farther we remove ourselves from real life.

As long as we concern ourselves with philosophy, we have no connection to the truth because we are only concerned with our own truth. Our own self-made truth is the image we have of life and this image stands between us and real life. If you keep philosophizing about anything and everything, you will eventually lose all connection with real life. You will no longer appreciate things for what they are; you will only judge them.

We do not need an invention to appreciate and understand the nature of things since we already have a means of direct perception.

When we love the truth, it will reveal itself to us naturally. Only when we do not love it do we end up chasing after it, intending to misuse it for our selfish goals. The truth does not hide; we do not need to discover it. Everything contains the truth and discloses its true nature when it is loved.

We philosophize when we want to invent theories because we are ignorant of the truth. In other words, we only philosophize when we do not value - and therefore cannot recognize - truth and life.

When you see the truth with your heart, you do not need theories or philosophies.

If you want to perceive the truth immediately and directly, you will need to rid your consciousness and your behaviour of lightless and egoistic thoughts, words, deeds and intentions. This will take some time and requires a great deal of patience, courage and perseverance. But the reward for truthfulness is vast and will exceed anything you have ever imagined.

If you wish to be able to perceive the true nature of things immediately and directly, you will need to proceed step by step towards your own true nature, by amending your behaviour and your consciousness.
