The Friendly Dog (Дружелюбная собака)
ОглавлениеOne sunny afternoon, Emma and her little brother Jake were playing outside in their backyard. Suddenly, they heard a soft bark. «What’s that sound?» Jake asked, looking around.
«I think it’s a dog!» said Emma, excited.
They followed the sound and saw a small dog sitting near the fence. The dog had brown fur and a shiny nose. It wagged its tail when it saw them.
«Hi, little dog!» said Emma, smiling. «Are you lost?»
The dog barked and came closer to them. It licked Jake’s hand, and Jake giggled. «This dog is so friendly!» he said.
The dog looked at them with big, kind eyes. It seemed to want to play. «Do you want to play with us?» Emma asked. The dog wagged its tail again, as if to say, «Yes!»
They played catch with a ball for a long time. The dog was very fast and could catch the ball in the air. «You’re a great dog!» Jake said, laughing.
After some time, Emma noticed that the dog didn’t have a collar. «Where is your owner?» she asked. «I hope you’re not lost.»
Just then, a man walked into the yard. «Oh, there you are!» he said to the dog. «I’m sorry. I must have left the gate open. This is my dog, Max.»
Emma and Jake were happy to meet Max’s owner. «Max is so friendly,» said Emma. «He’s the nicest dog I’ve ever met!»
«Thank you,» the man said. «Max loves to make new friends.»
Before leaving, the man said, «Goodbye, Emma and Jake. Max will be happy to play with you anytime!»
Emma and Jake waved goodbye to their new dog friend. «Max is the best dog ever!» Jake said, smiling.
