A Rainy Day (Дождливый день)
ОглавлениеIt was a rainy Saturday morning, and Lily and her little brother Tom were looking out of the window. «It’s so wet outside,» said Lily, frowning. «We can’t go to the park today.»
Tom sighed. «I wanted to play outside,» he said, disappointed.
Their mom smiled and said, «It’s okay! We can have fun indoors today.»
«How?» asked Lily.
«Well, we can play games, do some crafts, and even bake cookies!» their mom suggested.
Lily’s eyes lit up. «I love baking cookies!» she said. «Let’s do that!»
Tom agreed. «Cookies sound great!»
The kids and their mom spent the morning in the kitchen. They measured the ingredients, mixed the dough, and shaped the cookies into fun shapes like stars, hearts, and animals. «These cookies will be so delicious!» said Tom, licking his fingers.
While the cookies were baking, Lily decided to draw a picture. She took out her colored pencils and started drawing a big rainbow. «I’ll draw a rainbow to make the day brighter,» she said, smiling.
After they finished baking, they sat down with warm cookies and a cup of milk. «These cookies are the best ever!» said Lily, taking a big bite.
Tom smiled, holding his cookie. «I’m glad we stayed inside today!»
Later, they played board games together. They played Monopoly and had so much fun. «This is so much better than going to the park!» said Lily.
As the rain stopped and the sun began to peek through the clouds, Lily said, «Even though it rained, I had the best day ever!»
«Me too!» said Tom. «We can have fun indoors too!»
