P90X
ОглавлениеP90X is one of many branded home training programs delivered through online provider Beachbody, whose products include Insanity (HIIT cardio) and PiYo (Pilates yoga). P90X combines strength, endurance, yoga, plyometrics, and flexibility training, packaged as a 90-day DVD program comprising 12 workouts in undulating periodization cycles. Included with the program is a fitness test and a 3-phase nutrition and supplement plan. Workouts are 45 to 60 minutes a day, burning 400 to 700 calories, 6 days a week, and are for fitter individuals.
Aside from the $120 for the DVD program, you need to have yoga blocks and a mat, dumbbells, resistance bands, a pull-up/ chin-up bar, push-up handles, a heart rate monitor, and a body fat tester.
Home training programs can be convenient, but they also lack group motivation. You may not enjoy the program’s viral, social network-based marketing approach. If you are not fit, this program may be too much for you. Note that Beachbody coaches are devotees of the various online programs who have become salespeople through network marketing—they are not necessarily qualified trainers.
